Mt. Rainier

Mount Rainier is an icon in the Washington landscape. Located a couple of hours south of Seattle, the glaciated peak of this active volcano is visible from most locations across western Washington state. Mt. Rainier is renowned for its glaciers, old-growth forests, crystal-clear lakes, vibrant wildflowers such as asters and lupine, and a diverse array of animal species, including black bears, elk, and the fabled Bigfoot.

Artists from around the world who have been inspired by the rich wildlife and vast views offered by the area include Ansel Adams, Sanford Robinson Gifford, and now Erin Hanson. Hanson's pieces depicting the area showcase iconic views, glorious blooms, and gleaming glaciers found across the gem of Washington, Mount Rainier National Park.
