About the Painting

About the painting:
Hiking a wet and rainy trail from Angel's Landing to the Lodge at Zion National Park found these beautiful cottonwood trees growing low to the ground, their branches skirting the top of the hillside. The colors were rich and saturated from the rain, captured on canvas here with thick, impressionistic brush strokes.

"Zion Cottonwoods" was created on gallery-depth canvas, with the painting continued around the edges. The piece arrives framed in a contemporary gold floater frame.
