About the Painting

The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park is alive with color throughout the year. In the summer the giant monsoon clouds roll through every day and dump rain across the desert floor. The red earth becomes bedewed with green sprouts and richly toned plantlife. This painting captures the beauty of the Canyonlands with wide, thick brushstrokes and vivid colors.

This painting will be shown in the The Red Rock Show at The Erin Hanson Gallery, June 16th, 2018. Click here to view the other Red Rock paintings.
