About the Painting

A wide expanse of white desert sand catches the multi-colored light of a fading afternoon. The purple wildflowers seem to dance on the surface of the canvas, catching the light in their thickly applied brush strokes. The mosaic quality of the light seems to create a sense of movement throughout the painting.

This painting was created on a gallery-depth canvas with the painting continued around the edges.
