About the Painting

Looking up into a grove of palm trees captures the feeling of being out in Palm Springs, surrounded by the warm California desert. This painting is alive with impasto texture, and the brush strokes come together to form a mosaic of light and color, like stained glass.

"Palm Fronds" is an original oil painting diptych, created on two canvases that are 1-1/2" deep. The painting is continued around the edges of the canvas for a wrap-around look. The painting is designed to hang unframed, with 2" of space between the canvases. (So the total length when hung would be 58".)
