About the Painting

A wintery November dawn breaks across the high passes of the Sierra Nevadas. The snow-covered landscape is fresh and cool in the morning light. The ancient pines on the top of the mountain are wind-gnarled and perseverant. The scene is captured in thick, lively brush strokes and vivid, impressionistic brush strokes.

This painting was done on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges of the canvas, and it has been framed in a custom-made gold floater frame. The painting arrives ready to hang.
