About the Painting

The dramatic limestone canyons of Big Bend National Park are most beautiful just at sunset when the cliffs turn multi-hued shades of vermillion and orange. The still waters of the Rio Grande catch the gilded reflection of the cliffs. This painting was created with thick, impasto brush strokes, adding a dimension of texture to the piece.

This painting will be on display at the Museum of the Big Bend, during the solo exhibition Erin Hanson: Impressions of Big Bend Country. This painting will be ready to ship after January 10th, 2019. Click here to view the collection.

This painting has been framed in a custom-made gold frame. The painting arrives ready to hang.
