About the Painting

Rolling hills of Napa Valley are brought to life in vivid color, capturing the vibrant sherbet hues seen at dawn. Groves of oak trees nestle in between the hillsides, casting long purple shadows across the sun-burnt grass.

"Hills at Dawn" was created in Erin's Open Impressionist style, with thickly applied paint and defined brushstrokes. Each color was mixed from a limited palette of only 5 primary colors. The thick, impasto paint lends dimension to the canvas. The piece was created on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges. The painting arrives framed in a simple gold-leaf floater frame.
