About the Painting

This painting captures the dramatic vista seen when you first enter Arches National Park. Hiking down into the canyon between the red rock fins towering above on either side is a surreal experience. The landscape is drenched in color, the red sandstone appearing in a multitude of colors ranging from soft buttercream to sherbet orange to pale lavender.

This painting was created on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges. The piece has been framed in a carved gold open impressionist frame.

This painting will be shown in the The Red Rock Show at The Erin Hanson Gallery, June 16th, 2018. Click here to view the other Red Rock paintings.
