This painting was inspired by the Emerald Pools hike in Zion National Park. The trail leads up from the canyon floor steeply up into the canyon cliffs. These emerald pools are discovered high up in the cliffs, before you cross over the peak and start descending down into the white sandstone slickrock of East Zion. This painting captures the magic of discovery in the National Parks.

This painting was done on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edge of the canvas. This piece has been framed in a gold, hand-carved open impressionist frame.

This painting will be shown in the The Red Rock Show at The Erin Hanson Gallery, June 16th, 2018. Click here to view the other Red Rock paintings.
