The Erin Hanson Gallery - Grand Opening in Los Angeles, CA

The Erin Hanson Gallery Opening Was a Roaring Success!

Saturday, July 13, 2013

Erin Hanson's artwork on display

The Erin Hanson Gallery Opening was a Roaring Success! Saturday, June 29th marked the official opening of The Erin Hanson Gallery in Glendale, California. Hundreds of Los Angeles art lovers, area locals and Erin Hanson collectors gathered for this celebratory evening.

The 2,000 square foot gallery was packed and the mood was electric, with flowing wine, delectable food donated by Granville Cafe and live musicians rocking out. The crowd favorite was Hanson’s 18-foot, 6-panel painting of the Grand Canyon, which garnered many gasps and effusive reactions. Hanson captured one of this world’s most spectacular panoramas in an altogether breathtaking way.

Hanson, an already popular Los Angeles based artist, found particular pride and joy in watching her fans reactions to the bold colors and magnificent scenery in her paintings. Her work is captured with a wet-on-wet technique that brings landscape painting to an unexpected level, and a few attendees couldn’t help but gingerly touch the paintings to trace the textured branches of a gnarled tree. “My goal as an artist is to bring beauty to the home - when I see my collectors smile from ear to ear I know that I have brought something magical to their lives and there is no greater feeling than that,” says Erin Hanson, lifelong painter and rapidly emerging virtuoso.

About Erin

ERIN HANSON has been painting in oils since she was 8 years old. As a teenager, she apprenticed at a mural studio where she worked on 40-foot-long paintings while selling art commissions on the side. After being told it was too hard to make a living as an artist, she got her degree in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley. Afterward, Erin became a rock climber at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. Inspired by the colorful scenery she was climbing, she decided to return to her love of painting and create one new painting every week.

She has stuck to that decision, becoming one of the most prolific artists in history, with over 3,000 oil paintings sold to eager collectors. Erin Hanson’s style is known as "Open Impressionism" and is taught in art schools worldwide. With millions of followers, Hanson has become an iconic, driving force in the rebirth of impressionism, inspiring thousands of other artists to pick up the brush.
