About the Painting

This painting was inspired by my recent trip to Kyoto, Japan. The steep hillsides in Arashiyama Park are covered with glorious fall-colored trees. When you hike up the steep switchback trail to the top of the mountain, there is a monkey park where you can see all the way across Kyoto to the distant mountains beyond. Japan is home to some truly beautiful landscapes.

"Forest Light" was created on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges. The brush strokes are thick and impressionistic, capturing the movement of the trees. The painting arrives framed in a 23kt gold floater frame.
