Paso Robles landscape painter Erin Hanson paints with colorful abstract shapes.

Lupin Hills

This painting was inspired by a hillside near Paso Robles that was covered in purple lupin wildflowers. The warm afternoon light glints off the rounded oak trees and makes the sky glow with color. I use thick, textural brush strokes to evoke a sense of movement within the painting.
