Mustard wildflowers blanket these California hills in cadmium yellow light, glimmering like gold in the afternoon sun. This contemporary impressionist oil painting brings the movement of the outdoors to life with loose brush strokes and minimalist palette.

This original oil painting was created over an application of 24 karat gold leaf. The genuine gold glints through the layers of oil paint, catching the light in a subtle and surprising manner, and bringing the oil painting to life like never before.

The painting was created on 3/4" canvas and comes framed in a gilded, 6"-deep, museum-quality frame. The second photograph above shows the painting under gallery lighting in the frame that is included with this piece.

ERIN HANSON is a life-long painter, beginning her study of oils as a young child.  Her passion for natural beauty is seen in her work as she transforms vistas familiar and rare into stunning interpretations of bold color, playful rhythms and raw emotional impact.
