An interesting pattern of shadows drew me to this grove of trees, while I was out hiking in northern Montana. The late afternoon light created a beautiful warm glow on the trees' bark, which contrasted beautifully with the velvety purple shadows.

"Shaded Boughs" was created in Erin Hanson's signature style, known as Open Impressionism. The brush strokes are loose and expressive, thickly applied with vibrant color. The painting arrives framed in a contemporary gold floater frame, ready to hang.
