The previous volume, Open Impressionism: Volume II, showcased works from 2006–2016, marking the first decade of Hanson’s painting career, during which she developed and refined her signature style.

By 2017, Erin Hanson had firmly established herself as a celebrated painter, with an ever-growing following and increasing demand for her art. Open Impressionism: Volume III presents a curated selection of her works from 2017 through 2020. During these four prolific years, Hanson created approximately 800 original oil paintings, and narrowing these down to the 315 featured in this volume was no easy task. Throughout these pages, you’ll encounter vivid portrayals of red rock deserts, the vibrant colors of California, the delicate splendor of Japan’s autumnal maple trees, the majestic scenery of the Northwest, and breathtaking floral inspirations drawn from across the Western states.
