About the Painting

Waves of summer light splash over this Western landscape, the distant buttes changing color under the moving clouds. The tumbleweeds are starkly white against the warm desert sands, creating interesting patterns across the ground. A stately saguaro stands erect among the desert scrub.

This painting was done on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges. The brushstrokes are loose and impressionistic. The piece has been framed in a carved floater frame.

This painting is a part of Erin Hanson's The Red Rock Show at The Erin Hanson Gallery. Click here to view the other Red Rock paintings.
