About the Painting

The vista from Oak Creek in Sedona perfectly captures the spirit of the desert. The buttes are starkly red against the baby blue sky, and the swirling clouds cast patterns of light and shadow across the landscape. The brush strokes in this piece are loose and painterly, creating a mosaic of color and texture across the canvas.

This painting was done on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edge of the canvas. This piece has been framed in a beautiful, hand-carved open impressionist frame.

This painting will be shown in the The Red Rock Show at The Erin Hanson Gallery, June 16th, 2018. Click here to view the other Red Rock paintings.
