Bryce Canyon after a snowfall is one of the most beautiful sights to see in the Southwest. Hiking early in the morning to shake off the sub-freezing temperature is the best way to enjoy Bryce. The steepled rock formations reflect red light that bounces around within the pillars, while the tall pines are a beautiful contrast against the red.
The brush strokes in this painting are loose and impressionistic, capturing the abstract nature of the landscape with a free hand and vibrant color.
This painting was created on a gallery-depth canvas with the painting continued around the edges. The painting will arrive in a beautiful hardwood floater frame, ready to hang.
Exhibited: St George Art Museum, Utah, in a solo exhibition celebrating the National Park's centennial: Erin Hanson's Painted Parks, 2016.
