Valley of Fire State Park, an hour north of Las Vegas, is a spectacular place for hiking and camping. Surrounded by fiery red sandstone at every turn, the park is steeped in color and unusual rock formations. As an interesting side note, the very first exhibition of Erin Hanson's Open Impressionism paintings took place in the Valley of Fire visitor center, in 2006.

Exhibited: Desert Caballeros Western Museum, as part of the Cowgirl Up! Exhibition, 2019.

This painting was done on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges of the canvas, and it has been framed in a custom, gold-leaf floater frame. The painting arrives ready to hang.
