A grove of aspen trees spreads along the hillside in this painting of Cedar Breaks National Park. The grove changes color in waves, moving from green to yellow to orange, and the bare, leafless trees stand starkly pale against the colorful background.

The brush strokes in this oil painting are loose and expressionistic, capturing the feeling of being outdoors in the late autumn. The painting was created on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges of the canvas. It has been framed in a custom-made gold floater frame and arrives ready to hang.

This painting was exhibited in Erin Hanson: American Vistas at the Nancy Cawdrey Studios and Gallery in Whitefish, Montana, 2019.
