About the painting:
A crisp morning in January inspired this oil painting of Zion National Park. The steep red rock cliffs towered around the canyon floor, reflecting warm light into the wintry shade. The light filtering through the bare branches of the cottonwood trees looked like stained glass, and I tried to capture this effect in the painting.

"January Zion" was created on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges. The painting arrives framed in a contemporary gold floater frame, ready to hang.

ERIN HANSON is a life-long painter, beginning her study of oils as a young child.  Her passion for natural beauty is seen in her work as she transforms vistas familiar and rare into stunning interpretations of bold color, playful rhythms and raw emotional impact.
