Beautiful flecks of color dance through the branches of these oaks, their overhanging branches forming a cool tunnel of shade protecting the hiking trail. The brush strokes are loose and full of texture, creating an expressionist movement of color and light.

This painting was created on a gallery-depth canvas with the painting continued around the edges. The painting will arrive in a beautiful hardwood floater frame, ready to hang.

Exhibited: St George Art Museum, Utah, in a solo exhibition celebrating the National Park's centennial: Erin Hanson's Painted Parks, 2016.
