Mojave Desert oil painting by modern impressionist Erin Hanson

Desert Brush

The Mojave Desert has beautiful color year-round. I love painting the desert in the summer when the sagebrush are dry and white, a beautiful contrast to the reddish sand of the desert floor. The thick brush strokes of oil paint add an intriguing texture to the painting.

"Desert Brush" was created on 1-1/2" canvas, with the painting continued around the edges. The painting arrives framed in a contemporary gold floater frame, ready to hang.
