This original oil painting captures a burst of color in the form of wild thistles among the summer grasses. The impressionistic brush strokes are thickly applied with a brush, creating a sense of excitement and motion between the wildflowers. The colors are stunning and yet subtle, blending beautifully together.

This painting was created over 24 karat gold leaf, applied directly to the canvas as an "underpainting." The thin sheets of gold gleam with subtle lights from between the brush strokes, catching the light and making the painting seem to glow from within. This style of painting was inspired by Gustav Klimt's fascinating use of gold leaf in his figurative works.

Like all the 24 Karat Collection paintings, this piece is painted on 3/4" canvas and arrives framed in a classic gilded frame, ready to hang. Please contact the artist for more pictures and video of the finished piece.
