A dreamy morning in Cedar Breaks National Park, a few hours after daybreak, found the artist lounging alongside this creekbed, eating crackers and cheese. The aspens were drenched in color, almost electric with orange and yellow, a striking contrast against the curves of slough grasses below and the distant layers of blue mountains beyond.
This original oil painting was created over an application of 24 karat gold leaf. The genuine gold glints through the layers of oil paint, catching the light in a subtle and surprising manner, and bringing the oil painting to life like never before.
This 2"-gallery depth painting comes framed in a custom-made floater frame that was hand plated in 24 karat gold leaf.
